Flares/Tire Size

I am thinking about going with some fiberglass flares and want to get some input on want flares to buy and what tire/wheel combination can I or should I run. I really like the look of some of the newer styles i.e., 993, Boxster, etc. I was thinking about either 16/17x7's up front and 16/17x8's in the rear. What do you think? As far as tires go, I really don't what to do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. By the way, I am selling my early 911 15x6 windmills with polished lips, spokes, black background with polished painted crest center caps with Nitto NT450 225/50/15 tires(200 miles wear)for $1,000 obo or trade for above mentioned rims with reasonable tires. My rims are currently fitting under stock wheelwells with the rear inner lips rolled slightly.

You can cover any size tire\wheel combo with flared body panels. The thing you need to consider is chassis clearance. I have 15x8 fuch's copies W\125mm Wheel spacers. Front rubber, 215/60s Just clear the chassis when cornering. Rear rubber,235/60s just clear the control arm infront of the tread.The moral is plan,measure,measure again.
