My guess is that the factory VIN sticker for the drivers door post is going to be very difficult to replace. It is after all one of the official VIN number locations on the car and probably cannot be legally reproduced.

Blank stickers can be purchased from a well known vender. I just had lunch so I can't risk saying the name now.
Im not a lawyer, but, the creation and ownership of these stickers is generaly not enought to get arrested. There must be an intent to falsify VINS. On the flip side, not having the door sticker is a known cause of problems with the police. As fewer cops know where to look for stickers on "older" cars this may not be so much of an issue any longer. They are very thin metal and the number are stamped trough so you are going to have to be very careful.
