Front jack point problem
I have a clean chassis that has never needed rust repair. However my front donuts are bending up (pushing the floor up) When I purchased the car, it had been stored on jack stands at the donuts for two years. I figured this fatigued the floor being stored in this way for so long. Just to be safe, I've inspected both sides of this area and NO rust was found( I even removed the seam sealer. Has anyone encountered this on a unrusted car? Is it OK place the two post lift pad partially on the seam weld to prevent further bending? This is only on the front of the car.
Thanks! |
mine are like that a bit, try using a 4 by 4 inch piece of wood to spread out the load under the longs on the side. You will just bend and crush the seam weld too unless you put a little piece of wood on the lift

I've got floor intrusion from previous "professional" service where they did not bother to actually hit the donut. :(
