Removal of front fenders

I'm looking at installing the front end kit from Beach Boys Racing (Monterey) on my 914 V8 conversion. This inclides a new front bumper asmy and two flared steel fenders. I am assuming that the original front fenders are spot welded, so besides using a spot weld drill bit, are their any other suggestions on how to easily remove them. Thanks.

I haven't heard of any cleaner way to remove them other than a spot weld drill bit and patience. Don't be surprised if you go through more than one bit.

Sure, you could be impatient (like a fellow I once knew) and frustrate-chisel the hell out of 'em, but the extensive metal clean-up afterwards just ain't worth it.
