V8 Q: Anybody got Frame Alignment Specs?
 

I have a severely rusted 914 with an existing fiberglass body and V8 conversion. The front has been so weakened by poorly designed cut-outs and rust that the chassis has shifted under the fiberglass shell in the front end. I don't plan to use this chassis for anything but a mule, but I'd like to stiffen it just so it doesn't fall apart. Problem is that while I can add some tubing braces, I can't tell where to set the frame before welding.

Anybody got real factory dimensional specs for frame alignment?

PS: I'm looking for a straight rust-free chassis, if anybody's got one. No engine, trans, or even suspension required. Light body damage OK, but must be straight and without structural rust.

The factory manuals have the dimensions. I don't have a copy with me, sorry. See if you can hunt up someone who'll look them up for you...

The preferred way to make sure a 914 is straight is to use the Factory-authorized "Celette" frame jigs. They have all of the appropriate measuring points built in. The down side is that they're expensive to rent.
