Window cranks, which ones are correct?

Hey, I'm looking to replace a broken window crank. Looked on the Pelican site but the photo of their crank, http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/images/interior_trim/914_window_crank.JPG, has a crank with a wider arm than the one I currently have.

Is this the correct window crank for my 1973 914 2.0L or should it be like the one I currently have, which has a narrower arm?

Thanks.

Those look like the 75-76 handles. Earlier ones have thinner arms, while very early ones have some chrome on the big end.

It sounds like yours are correct for your car.

Check Brett Johnson's "Restorer's Guide" for more info of this kind. Available elsewhere on this site.

As DD said, check the restorer's guide and get the original type if you want to concours the car or show it, but for everyday use get sone $5 one from Pep Boys and use them as they sure break easy! I gave Julia several last year at Christmas for stocking stuffers!

Dave, do you have any of the correct ones in stock that I can buy?

Or anybody else?

Andrew

I don't know--I telecommute for this gig, and live 6 hours drive away from the warehouse and office.

Give 'em a call. 888/280-7799.
