Did you ever figure out what the SL meant? I have the same problem. I would also like a copy of the manual, if you were able to get a copy.

Sun CWB-1762 Operation
Can anyone tell me if this balancer has dynamic braking? I just picked up a machine and it appears to work correctly except that it coasts to a stop after the balance spin up rather than braking the wheel to a stop.
