can you put......

911 seats in a 914. They are more comfy.

You can put anything into anything else, if you've got a cutting torch and a welder... http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/wink.gif

The 911 seats are much, much taller than the 914 seats. Check the distance from the bottom of the mounting bracket to the top of the lower seat cushion some time. You'll lose probably 4" of headroom, or more.

If you really want different seats, check into race seats. They're usually low enough that you don't lose much headroom.

Put Corbeau Forza seats in my teener. Fit nice although the large pad under my thighs makes it feel like I am sitting in a hole. Not for the large of stature to get in and out of car.

For the 911 seats, is it the actual seat that adds to the height or is it the bracket part that adds to most of the height?

If I was to already have the 911 seats, of which I agree are more comfortable, I would be willing to try to modify the brackets to make it a workable solution.

All of the above. The brackets are taller, and the seat-bottom itself is also taller. And the seat-back is thicker as well, so you'll lose some fore-and-aft travel.

There are other alternatives as well, as most of the other folks who posted replies know. There was at one time a 916 seat. Same dimensions as the 914 seat, but with huge side bolsters.

Also, I think the guys (Scott?) from Renegade Hybrids have a seat that fits perfectly and looks awesome.

My opinion is to get the 914 seat recovered. When you do, they can install new foam. They could even install softer foam, I would imagine.
