914/6 2.0 motor what is it worth?

Hello, I recently came across a 70' 914/6 2.0 long block (no induction, exhaust, oil cooler, alt/fan asm) for sale, the owner says it has about 110,000 miles. The serial number is 6404390 type 901/38. What is something like this worth?

I pretty much have to agree with Brian. The motor be worth it's most in the original car it came in. It's next highest value will be that the motor is in an original 914-6, but not the car it originally came in. Beyond that, it's a very small low horsepower six motor. Anyone, or most people should I say, would probably opt for one of the newer bigger sixes for a conversion. My brother just got through buying a '71 2.2T motor in fairly good condition for $500.00. I agree that $1,500 would be the MOST you could get and that would be someone like what I described in the earlier part of this post. Good Luck!

Just for info. I bought a junk chassis (1970 911T) that turned out to contain a 914/6 engine, to my surprise. Cost, $325 including delivery and scrap haul away. The engine turned out to be in very good shape, except for valve guides, but I rebuilt it completely since it was in the junk yard for some years. It now has 2.2 E pistons and heads and runs well in my 914/6. My guess, your engine would be worth at least $300, but not much more because of the unknowns.
