Shifting issue update
well i looked at the bushings and the coupler bushings look a little worn but i have no idea how to get them off . the rear shift rod bushing is broken and worn quite a bit on one side so i'll replace that one. the rest seem in good condition. i have yet to adjust the shift linkage but i will do that as soon as i put the rear shift rod back in.
here are pics of the bushings in question: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1245096432.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1245096463.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1245096485.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1245096502.jpg |
The pin through the middle of the coupler bushings gets pressed out. Very carefully support the body of the coupler; it is pot-metal and relatively easy to break.

thanks! i used a socket to support it and it took ALOT of hits with the hammer and punch but i finally got it out and with no damage at all to the coupler.
