Remove drive shafts.....how?!

I bit the bullet and I'm dropping the 3.2 Carrera motor and trans from my 914. The only thing left to do before lowering the motor is to disconnect the drive shafts. I'm not sure the best way to go about it so I consulted both my 914 books, and all I can say is.........huh?

I'm sure some of you have messed with your shafts before, along with a few rear ends. Maybe someone could help me get mine out of the way with the least disassembly. I didn't see any tech articles that address the issue, but if I missed one maybe someone could point it out.

Oops, I went straight to tech articles after posting and found the engine removal article, whichs deals with it pretty thoroughly.
