Steering wheel question
What steering wheels will fit in a 914? Can you make a 944 85.5 steering wheel fit?

You can make it fit but its not easy. I have seen it done on two different cars. It involves a good bit of cutting and welding of the hubs.

I would not recommend cutting and welding a steering wheel. I have worked for the last 8 years designing steering columns and have been heavily involved with crash testing. There is an awful lot of work that goes into tuning both the steering column and steering wheel for crash safety - and the impact loads that a wheel can see are tremendous. If a steering wheel hub was welded and the weld failed in a crash, the hub/column could impail you.
