 Question regarding resurfacing flywheel 
		
		
		I have 4 flywheels - 2 from 2.0 cars and 2 from 1.8 cars. 
	I'm assuming that they are the exact same for all 1.7,1.8, & 2.0 I want to get one resurfaced to be used in my newly acquired 2.0 and I'm wondering if there's anything special I should be looking for to determine which one is the best. Obviously, I would look for broken teeth and any serious gouges but at the moment they all look the exact same to me. Regarding the resurfacing, are there any guidelines out there somewhere that I can give to the shop. I read somewhere about two surfaces that need to be ground but I really don't remember. I've been out of the 914 game for awhile but it's time to get my baby back on the road. Thanks in advance...................Vern  | 
		
 Have them take the same amount off of the friction surface and the pressure plate mounting surface.  And consider having them take a similar amount of material off the mounting bolt surface so the bolt heads don't get too close to the clutch disk.

 914 flywheels 
		
		
		Careful with that flywheel and who you take it to and how much they take  
	off. There is a service limit on 914 flywheels. The service limit starts at the top edge to the serface to the face of the flywheel. I have a nice flywheel with few miles and it measures just under 24mm, however you need to have that value checked before you have it surfaced in which case they will know how much to take off.  |
