Looking for 914 heater switch

Hey everyone

Just looking for a heater switch. It is the one that has a three click turn knob. The knob is brown with the word "HEATER" written on top. These seem to be very hard to find theses day's. I have been looking for about a month. I need another for the other seat heater.

Thanks

Not an OEM part on any VW-Porsche 914 that I have ever heard of. You'll have to figure out what kind of car it came out of.

Oh, and seat heaters were never an option for the 914. The wires going to the bottom cushion are for a sensor to tell if there is someone sitting in the seat, for the seatbelt warning system.

I received a very large lot of 914 parts last Friday....What a way to start the new year! I'm not familiar with this switch, however, one of the dash frames I got has a 3 position switch that I haven't seen before. I think the knob was black, though. I'll look tonight and I'll take a picture of it.
Rich.

Like Dave said, this is not oem. I thought it was probably a fix for a broken cold air fan switch...The cold air switch is 3 pos. Who knows. This dash has one too. I don't think it's for a seat heater, though.

Maybe a windshield wiper switch? On the very early cars (70-71 + 914-6), it was on the dashboard. I don't remember what it looked like, though.

That one doesn't look like and OEM one...they were all like the the other two..can you take it out and post somemore photos...

Dave wasn't the the very early wiper switch like the old VW ones...pull on and for washer press in the center....seems like I remember one that I had with a In and Out plastic washer line going thru it...when you pressed the center it opened a valve attached to the switch....sort of the same principle as the one on the steering column..

A windshield wiper switch...hmm. My knowledge of the early cars is lacking. That makes sense, though. I'll take the switch out tonight.

I don't know what the early wiper switch was like.

Oh, I forgot--the 914-6es had the switch on the column like a 911 did, so it was only the early four-cylinder cars that had it on the dash. And there were fluid connections to it, because the spare tire pressure ran the washer fluid in all 914s.

My '70 had it on the dash. Shape of swith was similar to the defroster switch shown in the pic. Black center with windsheild icon. Two speeds only. Can't comment about having a push operation for fluid. Mine was converted to an electric pump for washer fluid.

Heat is controled by floor mounted lever. Red. and dash board control for location (floor or winshield).
