A/C removed: How to close the opening?
I have a 73 2.0L that had an A/C unit placed at the dealership at time of purchase. I even have the original window sticker that came with the car.(Pretty Cool...) The PO removed most of the A/C components, and now the front trunk just has a piece of sheet metal covering the area where the A/C vent was.
My question is: Is there a better way to close the hole in the front trunk other that sheet metal and sheet metal screws? I have looked on the pelican site and I don't see any replacement sheet metal for the front trunk floor area. Thanks all,

sure go find a rust bucket parts car and cut the floor out then drill all of the spot welds out in you car and on the donor part the weld the donor part in your car and paint
or if you cant do all of the welding now what i did was to silicone in the donor part for now so i can take it out later and weld it later( at repaint time )

You don't have to go through all that. Find somebody with the floor piece, yes. But if the rest of your trunk is solid, then just graft the part you need in there. If done well, you'll never know the difference from the day it rolled off the factory floor.
Cuttin the entire front trunk pan out would be a nightmare. I think I've seen that Mike Z has taken a Sawzall to a few teeners. He may have what you're looking for. Stromberg might to. Rob-O |

I did what Rob-O suggested. It looks good as new. I got a donor floor from a rear ended rust bucket. I think it cost me $25.
