Brake question please help?!?!
well its 5:30 am here in Ohio, i have been up since 6:00 am yesterday and i am a little sleep deprived and kind of lost, i am 10 months into rebuilding my 73' 914, (almost done i think) and i have come to the brakes, i am getting my rotors turned here in a few hours when my auto parts store opens, but i have a small problem, on a rear caliper there is the inner adjuster screw cover, and the actual adjuster (with the teeth on it), i have taken both of these out and cleaned inside there( was horribly dirty) anyways it appeared to me that some grease or really thick and dirty brake fluid came out of this hole... what should i put back in there... does this indicate i need to rebuild my calipers not just clean them ???![]() 1) tube grease 2) brake fluid 3) nothing 4) a small note reminding me never to take these apart again ![]() i apologize for burdening you with something so insignificant but it is kind of important to me |

Any Ideas
i called all of my local auto parts stores and of course they had now clue what i was even talking about, i consulted my haynes manual but it was of no help, i trolled the piles of threads on here and i am still lost, any help would be an absolute life saver literally
thanks much, George |

you can use a little grease and reassemble. i would check them after use to make sure they are no leaking brake fluid.
