Congratulations. The price is right. Sounds like the body work was worth the price. BUT. First take it to a good frame shop that knows early unibodies and have it thouroughly checked and straightened if necessary. This should have been done before the stiffening kit was applied, but you must make sure. Don't worry about the need to straighten unless the frame shop holds up a red flag and dances on one foot. Next, satisfy yourself about all the mechanicals and fuel delivery system, before (BEFORE!)you paint, i.e look at the article on converting to a metal fuel line (only need one for the carbs) and check out the brake upgrade article. Next, satisfy yourself about all the electronics, - - - - - - you paint! About underneath? What color is original? Are you going to change the color? (Whole nother subject.) Take note of the posts that are surely to follow, then paint. Simply, you do not want to work around fresh paint, even if it is just to rebuild the carbs. Good luck.

Congratulations! Sounds like a fair deal. You will have plenty of work ahead so be patient. It may be helpful to prioritize what you want to do first, etc. While it will never become a concours car, it should offer you many challenges and hopefully a lot of fun. If you truly get bitten by the bug, it may not be your last 914 either. I now have owned three!

Hi Thankyou for your input, the car was origenally yellow.. I think i am going to leave it the same, I figure it would be alot easyer.. Maybe at a later time i'll paint it red or a midnight blue.

As far as the frame goes, the stiffening kit was installed by a certified mechanic in a frame shop.

But i do have e problem right now, I think i need a new bearing in the hub for the rear axel.
I talked to the guy i bought it from He said the bearing puller tool will cost me about 200.00. i was wondering if there is away around this.
