How do I remove the throttle position switch?

OK I know there are two screws one either side but there is a female connection on the TPS which appears to lock onto a shaft from the throttle body.Anyone know the trick?

There is a locking tongue inside the female connection and I am sure it locks into a groove on the shaft, someone must have removed one???

Pull and wiggle, I think that's how I managed. I forget if I had to pry to get the TPS off of the throttle shaft; if you do so be careful not to bend the shaft!

Thanks Dave how are you doing, had another look at it and its a shaft with a flat on it for correct alignment, all done and an improvement on the bucking.BTW the return spring , is it better to have a stronger one or???

I've been better. (Long story.)

A stronger spring will generally mean more wear on the throttle body, throttle valve, and bellcrank. You want the spring to be strong enough to close the throttle valve, plus a little bit more for safety margin, and that's it.

As far as I know, the TPS is held on by screws, not rivets.
