I just located a 3000 mile '73 red 2.0 914!

my bodyshop painter took this car in as trade for some 356 work a few years back: car was caught up in litigation & was properly stored in a climate-controlled warehouse, with only 3000 miles on it, supposedly perfect: red on black, '73 2.0 liter. Wow.

What do you folks think this car is worth, if it is indeed in original, not-much-effort-to-turn-into-a-concours-car condition??

Mark

If that mileage can be verified,it would be the lowest mileage 914 i have ever heard of. That being said,it would be worth exactly what someone would pay.Overall condition on a car that has been stationary for so long would have to be carefully examined.Does the motor turn?are the seals both body and engine in good condition? They came from the factory with rust, are the usual spots rust free? My guestimate would be between 15/20 G's

More likely 103,000 miles.. 914s had only 5 digit odometers. However, you never know till you check it out, right?

At the height of the market 2-3 years ago, this could be a $25K car.. Now? much less (maybe 30% less?)

Good colors too.

Probably 103k on the miles, but if it is a nice car, it is a nice car

I know where there is a decent looking yellow one that is for sale

These things do happen. I once bought a big Dodge wagon with very low miles that had been in storage for many years due to a legal tie-up.

One thing I found on this car, which had power everything, was that almost every electrical connection needed to be undone and cleaned. Lots of Gremlins to chase down.

The spring in the oil pressure relief valve had rusted through, allowing the pressure to build and the oil filter exploded. The shocks had also bled down and all had to be replaced.

Any car that has been sitting for years such as this will have issues. In this case it sounds like they would be worth sorting out.
