looking for 914 driver to run 11.5 hours of Sebring

Hello - ever want to drive 12 hours of sebring ??? Well how about 11.5 hours of sebring --------

I have had a bunch of 914's and 2 1970's 911's..... Right now I am looking for drivers to join a team for ChumpCar World Series World Series endurance racing - for one race or many races - NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

I have an old 914 autocross car that I am building to fit the rules and then race 11.5 hours of Sebring sept 24th-26th 2010 ---- there are 6 -8 races a year in the southeast that this car can run.

I need drivers or people who want-2-be drivers - crew - anybody that is interested in helping a crap can 914 - I need 4 drivers and have 2 ---- we split the actual consumables and car entry fee evenly - drivers will pay their own entry fee $100.

my cell #912-210-0175 email - savannahgators@att.net name is Scott thanks 9-9pm est.....

Ohh, always wanted to drive Sebring. If the race was a couple months away I'd strongly consider it. We built a 325i for the Midwest Chumpcar races.

Drivers

Hi Scott,
Haven't been driving here in the US, but had a licence in Europe for histroric races and rallies.
I am interested and I have the right size for the 914... 5.6 and just 163lbs.
Have a 914 project car, so affiliation is there.
Keep me on the list, would even bring some sponsor stickers

Please forward some details of the car. Will it be 4 cyl or 6 cyl (can't imagine a 4 cyl staying together for much more than three hours)? What class, if any, is it designed for? Does it have a current log book (SCCA), etc.? Will the only races run be on the east coast? The car will have to be perfect, not a "crap-can" 914; everything from wheel bearings to quality wheels, to shifting, to corner balance and chassis reinforcements.

I built and raced the red car (914/6), and the black car is my SCCA E/P car prior to becoming red (lower photo), circa 1984-'86. I have a PCA Club Race permanent license, and an SCCA National license (expired). I'm 6'3", 215 lbs.

Hello - Thanks for the interest in my racing endeavor ------ I would ask that anybody interested, read more about 24 hours of Lemons / Chumpcar ..... ChumpCar World Series ----
Here is a quote from the chumpcar front page
"Welcome to ChumpCar – North America’s home for $500 race cars and 24 hour endurance road racing. This series is for gear-heads; for people who love driving and driving fast. It’s for grassroots race teams and almost-race-ready cars. ChumpCar is a throw-back to the era when racing was fun and cheap… when Bondo beat carbon-fiber; when a crescent wrench was the most valuable tool in your box; when home-made engineering made everyone sit up and take notice; and when adding a little theme to your car didn’t get you laughed out of the pit. Those were good times… and they’re back.

So, do you think you’ve got what it takes, chump? If so, join us."

I really want to drive wheel-2-wheel but don’t see myself in SCCA or NASA type events.

the car is a $800 body that I counted the cage as $700 --- can with a free parts car ---- all safety equipment is not in the $500 budget ----- cage - brakes - tires - wheels - fuel system are outside of the budget ------ No fancy suspension parts - big motors that did not come OEM - and if you put it up on blocks in front of your house with a " make me an offer" sign - no one offers you $1000 ----- then its a Chumpcar....... if the city writes you a citation for junk in the road ---- its perfect....

Well, heck, Scott, it sounds like a lot of fun. Unfortunately, I'm too old to drive anything, that's less than as good as it can be, fast. I'm a safety freak by nature and can't do anything about it!

Now I've got to check out 24 Hours of Lemons!
