Can An Oil Temp Sender Be Tested?
Since it appears that the original Type IV oil temperature sending unit (039 919 268) is NLA anywhere, I got to wondering whether the two old ones I have are any good. Does anyone know just how often these things actually fail and is there a way to test them?

dont fail often, either wires breaks or it starts weeping oil at the seems, the inside is just a temp sensing resistance
test with hot water, boiling at sea level should give a 212 f readout. |
