1976 Porsche 2.0 Windshield wiper control switch

Original windshield wiper switch failed. Preplaced it with a used one I purchased on Ebay. After installation of used wiper switch, was unable to measure voltage at the black/purple low speed terminal or at the black/blue high speed terminal of the wiper motor. I do have voltage at the red/black 53A terminal. Checked all associated relays and fuses, they all test good. Removed the used wiper switch, gave it a visual examination and re-installed. Same result, cannot get the wiper motor to run as a function of the wiper switch position. Is the switch bad and how do I test it? The wiper motor bench tested good.

Any help will be appreciated.
