Lifting 914 engine question?

I have a question for everyone.

I maybe getting a 2.0L engine within a week or two and am not sure how to load it into my truck.

It more then likely be on a pallet. Can two guys and one wife pick up the pallet and load it into the truck? If not any ideas?

I have a moving dolly I have been using to move my old engine around on. Maybe some 2x12's and make a ramp???

Thanks :D

It's been a while, but IIRC, two average guys can lift a 914 engine fairly easily.

2 guys can lift it pretty easily. You can lift it by the heads if that's easier.

Hey, Kerry,

Is that a 2 liter 4 or 6 you're gettin? How's the project coming along?

Hey Ray, I am going for the 2.0L/4. I would love to have a /6 in it but I really want to drive my teener this spring/summer. It's been sitting since Nov 2000. It's time to drive!!! :D

How's that shifter problem/fix working out?

Kerry

The fix is working very well. But...

The clutch itself is now showing its age (slipping at high-ish revs), so I'm giving some money to ours hosts here at PP, and getting the clutch kit. That'll be a fun project. I'm gonna have a print of the Pelican Tech Article in one hand and a wrench in the other.

Let me know if you need a hand with that motor.
