Conversion from 914-6
Dear Forum,
I am working on a project to integrate a 6 cylinder into a 914-4 harness. I am looking for Photos of the original 914-6. Specially: Where was the CDI positioned? Where was the alternator regulator was positioned? Who has diagramm of the 914-4 Control Board. I am interesting in the physical pin output and like to match it with the 911 engine harness. I would like to use the experience on existing knowlage and not go though all problems too. Regards Merry Chistmas 2010 |

I am getting closer,
Who did this conversion already. I the schematic correct? I guess not. I need the connector endview of an 1971 911 2.2 engine http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1292671380.jpg |
best thing you can do for yourself is to is buy Art zapf's 914-6 color wiring diagram
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-914-914-6-technical-forum/78526-search-over-914-6-wiring-diagram.html or for $10, I will sell you Art's earlier b/w 2-part diagram with color codes listed one caveat - I have found that the wire colors on various years & models is not consistent, so expect to do some end-to-end tracing no matter what diagrams you capture |
I do not believe Art's color schematics are available any more. I tried several times to buy one from him and never was able. I think Art just stopped making them. If he ever did another run I would buy one for my garage wall.
I ultimately bought one from Jeff Bowlesby and have that one which I consider priceless. |
Hi Happy new year, 2011
my intent of this thread was more to see how other people placed the CDI and what is tricky on the conversion Photos will be good of original 914-6 Please share date. I have the schematic already which I need. BRhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1294071751.jpg |

Can you dive with your camera in the engine compartment and picture the electric board, fuel pump, you are using a permature, and everything what need to be seen. BR Bob Geil |
Art is producing the diagram again - one sheet, all color - Zapf Enterprises
