Dash indicator lights always on
 

My indicator lights in my dash(the green arrows in the tach)are always on when the key is on. They flash when I put on my indicator. But that is all.
Any suggestions.

Check the front and rear turn signal bulbs. If someone put a single-filament bulb in the dual-filament socket, all sorts of strange things can happen.

Check for other bad or strange grounds. Check the fuses--if the metal bits look anything less than shiny-new, replace them. (They're cheap insurance.) Check the ground for the light bulbs--it's probably a common ground for both, and it may be grounding through the case of the tach.

After that, you'll have to start checking the wiring. Make sure things are plugged in correctly, and that nobody has hacked up the wires. Use the wiring diagram (Haynes has B&W, Pelican has full-color here on the site) and a multimeter.

Also remember that some 914s have both lights flash with the turn signals and some have left/right flash. A mechanic friend told me the same thing Dave said, if the lights are on, there is a problem with a bulb or light socket. This was an early form of self-checking on the lighting system.
