Header size
 

I am doing a six cylinder conversion on my 914 and had a question about headers. I have an opportunity to buy a set at a great price but I am not sure if they will work or not. I am going to be building either a 2.4 or 2.7 liter engine and the headers I am looking at have an inside diameter 1 3/4 inches. Will these headers fit my engine?

It is a little large. Optimum is 1 5/8 in dia. for that size engine

The headers will fit, but you should really match port both the intake and the exhaust ports to the correct size of your intake manifold and the correct size of the exhaust port. The size of the ports you use is done by previous experience and a flow bench. OTTO
