Looking for a Rebuild Engine

Im looking for a rebuild engine for a 73' 914...any suggestions?

Maybe you could be a little more specific. You have a core motor or you need a rebuilt outright. That will help the folks help you.

I would recommend Raby's Aircooled Technology, unless you would rather pay twice.

You want a motor that you can be proud of?

You should look around the forums and see what people have to say about Otto cause he (in my opinion) is one of the best people you could possible have to build your 914 motor HANDS DOWN. Even Bruce Anderson recommends him.

He built my 73 2.0 liter motor in about a week and a half
He only used factory OE parts and gave me a 1 year guaranty on it.
He did lie to me though, he told me that I would get about 32 miles to the gallon but its MORE LIKE 42!!

how much was the rebuild and how can I get in touch with him?

Otto charged me $3689.32 total. He said that was about 3k for the motor and the rest for new gas lines, plugs, points, cond.,dist. cap, rotor, oil and oil filter and labor. He told me to take a trip to vegas to break it in, that's when I got that great mileage. He got the car back in his shop for the 1000 mile service($100.00) he didn't tell me about this, but he said he doesn't work for free, do I? He had it done while I waited, and suggested I go to the Venice beach boardwalk while the car cooled down, so the valves were cool, so they could adjust them. I'm an inland boy(175 miles away)and I have never seen as many drop-dead gorgeous, scantly clad women in one place. I guess the more skin showing, the more broken necks!(from turing around to look) I came back from the boardwalk with a sunburnt tongue from going ahahahahah! As usual he had the valves adjusted, got rid of the break-in oil, and changed the oil filter. He also checked the CO on that funny machine. It was really a $4589.00 motor, I lost $900 in vegas.

vROOM!!

oh, his site is URL=http://www.ottosvenice.com]www.ottosvenice.com[/URL] if you would like to drop him a call about the motor..[
