Jerky Deacceleration

I get some pretty jerky deacceleration when I let off the gas and its getting rather annoying. I have thought about removing the Deaccelration valve as I heard its just an emissions device but I am unsure as to what to do. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

year and engine type would be helpful. the 2.0 had that problem just as the throttle was moved, usually on decel, which was the throttle switch needing to be cleaned or replaced. usually just a single jerk.
