Question Remove the dash top & Koni ?

I found a dash for my car that is much nicer than mine. It has one small crack so the guy just gave it to me. My kinda deal!!! In looking at it I was not real sure how to replace my old one. I don't mind tearing up the old one as it's allready trashed. I don't want to mess anything else up either though. Tips please? I also got a set of Koni's for the rear. With the spring allready on it do I have to do anything besides take the pressure off it to remove the old ones & replace?

You will wind up removing all your guages and other things to get to the nylon nuts that hold it to the frame. It will be nice to have a small child with mechanical knowledge as his/her hands can better fit to get to them.

Why change the springs? Unless you suspect they are bad or you're going to a new higher rate.

Yes my old springs are shot. These Koni's looked pretty good & for $75 bucks I figured why not. On the dash in removing the gages just for the two nylon nuts above them? Can you reach the others just under the dash? Thanks for the help!

Been there, recently. There are 2 right behind the side air vents on the dash. Helps to remove the knee pad (the side vents come with it), 4 phillips heads, 2 on sides (via open doors), 2 via footwells. These face toward the front of the car.

Two more directly behind the gauges, kinda buried by the sheet metal lip back there. They face down.

Two more on either side of the gauge doghouse, you can get to them from the gauge doghouse. Face down.

I think there is one more between the ash tray and the radio. Can get to it from the radio opening. Face down.

Small hands help big time along with a shorty box wrench, 13 mm, I think. Careful, there are some fairly sharp sheet metal edges floating around back there, with a nice coat of rust on them, most likely. Good luck!
