New (to this group) Info Needed on Orange 914 in Ashland Oregon
Hi to all you folks in 914 Land!
First post here after a long lapse following the sale of my 911. Have decided what I really want now is a nice 914. Hoping some of you in S. Oregon or elsewhere may know something about this '75 1.8L and/or it's owner/seller. Supposedly a 1-owner CA car that had an engine replacement at some point done in SoCal (Baldwin Park) at "German Engine Exchange, Inc" Now apparently closed. Any leads, contact info, opinions, warnings, referrals to shrinks ![]() ![]() ![]()

Update: GEX
Have figured out that German Engine Exchange is the old name for GEX International. A firm about which I've read a great deal today! This is a beautiful car but is it worth considering without budgeting for an engine rebuild in the not-too-distant future? TIA for any thoughts, opinions or PM's.

GEX is the 4 cylinder vesion of Motormeister.
Assume the motor is not going to last long, nice looking car though, how does it look under the battery?

You should attend the wcr at the end of June. Lots of 914's and 914 people. You'll have to go to 914world.com for the details but it's arous your area I believe.

this is a link to the event thread. 914World.com - A Porsche 914 Community / Forum / Club Also, may want to check on the 914world site for information about the car, the world site is more active than the pelican 914 section. Good luck! |

Hi Ian:
Not your bad at all! This is too ironic - as I mentioned I've been off the Pelican grid for some time since selling my 911. In that time I moved to Seattle and forgot to update my info (just did). When you suggested the site to look up info on events there is indeed one in Seattle in July. That's what I thought you were pointing to. So I'll miss the Medford deal but the lead was still very valuable. Thanks to all for your help on this. I decided to pass on this great orange '75 with the mystery engine. May have been a mistake but too many questions about the history and no time to get a real PPI. So I'm still in the hunt and hope to be back here often once I find the right car. Ron

Oh wow, you just down the roadnow. There's a really nice and fairly large group of teeners inthe seattle area. Im sure they could definitely help you find a good car for a good price.
