Clutch shudder

Hate it!!
Comes and goes, only when the car is cold. It's awful to leave for work, and the first thing you get is a shaking.
Any ideas on causes and preventions?

Thanks
Karl

May sound silly but

Since you just put your motor back in. What did you adjust the clutch free play to.
Did you end up putting a new clutch in? What about flywheel surfacing and pressure plate?
When I put mine back together I bought the 911 disk kit from PP this was the only thing that worked as designed right out of the box and garage.
Dang this little car is fast. We still got to go for a drive as soon as this cold stuff leaves. Good thing my 928 has great heat!!!!

Joe mentioned you just put your motor back in, I hate to point to the obvious, but check all the mount rubbers for cracks, re-tighten all your mounting bolts, and block to transaxle fasteners. Then check for engine oil or gear lube leaking onto the clutch. As careful as you were the rear main seal could have been damaged while installing the flywheel, it could happen....

I appreciate the responses. I did not seperate the motor and trans. this go around. There was no sign of leakage out the bell housing, and still isn't. I've played with the freeplay adjustment a little.
I'll look at the motor mounts this evening. I found one side of the transmission mounts about to fall off once before.
Looking forward to warmer weather, Joe!
I had moved some plants out earlier this week, they were looking kind of sad this morning.

here is what my old one did

Parking in tight quarters was impossible. The clutch shuddered terribly. Unless I revved and did my impersonation of Speed racer start.
When I separated the trans my worst fears were realized. I had a leaking trans input seal. The whole friction disk was soaked. Not really enough to leak out of the hole as all the dirt it collected soaked up the most of it.
