I would like to remove the quarter window in the doors so I can remove the rubber seal below the windows. Because of the pending paint job on the car.
Can I just remove the quarter (wing) windows and seals without removing the forward channel for the wind up door window? If so how? |

If I remember correctly...
Yes. Roll down the window and remove the screws from the plastic triangle at the top of the channel (inside of the fuzzy strip). Slide plastic triangle up and away. Remove the interior door upholstery and there are (2) bolts that hold the triangle seal. I know..., sounds crazy. The seal is held in by a metal piece attached to the seal. The bolts clamp this metal piece to the door. From there just push/pull the seal and glass out. It should come out nice and easy. Your experience may vary. HTH |

It's out...another question
Ok so I got it out, not much of a problem, except for the little thin piece of seal that goes between the body and chrome channel. That part was a bugger, they were glued in.
One thing I noticed was that the quarter window seal seems to be waxed with a substance like parrafin? Is this normal? The wax was on the part of the seal that doesn't see daylight when in place. |
