Rear Sway bar and Autocross?
Ok, I have the 180LB springs on the back of my car. It lowered the car 1 1/2 inches. Several people have told me to remove my rear sway bar for better handeling on the track.
My question is: Has anyone tried shortening the two arms from the sway bar to the shock mount 1 1/2 inches? Did it help? If nobody has tried it, do you guys think it will work? I do not have an extra pair of the arms, Anyone care to donate two so I can cut them and try it? If not I want to Buy two.

The rule of thumb is: if you have a limited slip use the sway bar, if no limited slip don't use one. Of course this varies by car, driver, etc so I'd recommend trying it unhooked for several runs, hooking it up for several runs and then trying it a little stiffer. I'd have someone video the car at the worst corners to get an accurate image of what the car is rolling. I have a rear sway bar on my race car and it is stock which has seemed to work pretty good, but then I have 300# rear springs. Good luck.

I don't autocross but the PO did and has moved on to road racing. He did not like the rear swaybar and just disconnected it.
I removed it totally from my car during the drivetrain removal and am not sure if I'll keep it or not. When my conversion is complete I will give it a try and see what happens. If it does not work out with the 200 lb. springs I'll be using, perhaps we can work out a swap for something of equal value. Looks like we don't live that far from each other.
