How Remove Air Flow Cover?

Otto suggests cleaning contacts in Air Flow Meter box when trouble shooting L-jet on my 1.8. How is the cover removed?
Started to try but began to worry about taking it off in pieces.

just use a small flat head and be gental

but dont use any sovlent in side .... i did and i ruined it

i used wd 40 and the carbon tracks softened up and wiped away

i did use alcohol to stop it but be careful

make sure to seal it back up when done

Otto says use a pencil eraser. I bought some Radio Shack Electronic Cleaner in a spray can with a brush to use on my FI wiring connections. Is it risky to use that on the air flow meter contacts?
