Average lifetime of HTS?

I just had my HTS or the wiring from it fail after only about 3 years and ~20,000 miles. I know it failed because, as some might remember, I got a resistor that is about the value of resistance when engine is hot. When I plug the computer in to that, the engine runs fine once warm.

Yes, Pelican will be getting an order soon enough!

No idea of the lifetime of these things. The one I had in my car was an 0 280 130 003, I recently replaced it with an 0 280 130 012. They're essentially the same, except the 012 is the OEM part. My 003 is at least 15 years old and is still good.

BTW, what resistance value did you use to simulate the warm engine condition?

68 ohms I believe is what I used. I think it is supposed to be around 75 ohms, but I couldn't find that one when I was looking. 1200 ohms simulates a stone cold, as well as cold outside, engine.
