engine lid not lining up properly

My engine lid is riding low on the passenger side.

The rear trunk lid is adjusted properly, and the engine lid is as close as we can get it to the firewall. The engine lid barely avoids hitting the rear trunk when closing, and after it's closed the corner of the engine lid that is next to the passenger side rear window is low by about a quarter inch.

Any thoughts? I've read the other posts about engine lids not closing properly, the L-mounting brackets and hinges look fine. I'm hoping that there is a simple and fast solution.

Thanks!

Get a piece of angle-iron or something else with a 90-degree angle and check the bottom of the L-shaped brackets on the firewall. They are hard to really get an eye on, and they can start to sag without cracks that are obvious enough to see without disassembling everything.

Chances are pretty good that the passenger's side bracket is no longer 90 degrees. Compare its angle with that of the driver's side bracket. The bracket can be repaired and reinforced by welding without a huge amount of difficulty.

Those L brackets also have a bit of front-rear adjustment while tightening the 10mm bolt.

Rosanna - I hate to admit it, but I had the same issue and just bent the lid / torqued it back to about the right shape! Kind of the 'redneck' solution, but it lines up fine now! LOL
