How do I test my Temp gauge?
Is there a way to test a 1973 center console temp gauge with a OHM meter? I looked in the tech forums here but could not find any specs. This is a gauge from my stash of parts and I would like to eventually sell it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Rod Bell

You can test it by hooking it up to power, and ground, and to a resistor to ground. The sender (hooks up to the "G" terminal) is actually a thermistor, a resistor whose resistance changes with temperature. So you could use a potentiometer to simulate that. I don't remember the resistance range for the stock sender, though. You should see a change in reading going from just a few ohms of resistance to several hundred or several thousand ohms.
