What Is This Part?

What is the black part in this picture, sitting next to the trunklid roller? I kind of remember it being attached to a case bolt on the top side.

This tab comes welded to the stock top engine tin. I believe it is the mount for the fuel pressure regulator on the driver's side tin.

i think it's a little mounting bracket (don't know what for) that mounts on a bolt near the tower for the oil filler. i think the mounting bracket for mounting the fuel pressure regulator is differently shaped so i don't think it's the welded mount on the engine tin.

John Larson over on the 914 Rennlist e-mail list says it is a bracket that holds a plastic clip that holds two plug wires.

He used to work on 914s at the dealership when they were new, so he oughtta know...
