That "other site"

May not be the appropriate forum, but Mark Whitesell, 914Rubber opened up a new site while that " other" site is down. At 914Stuff

Really? I miss the World like crazy. But the last thing we need is ANOTHER new forum. Let's see:
914w*rld
914cl*b
Pelican Parts
ClubN*RP
Rennlist
Shop Talk
The Samba
Raby
DDK
Yahoo Groups
Facebook 914w*rld group
At least two other Porsche 914 groups on Facebook
914stuff

That's not even close to a complete list. What makes a forum great is when it is large and active. More fragmentation only hurts that. Why not rally everyone to just come here or N*RP?

We really don't need another thread on this topic. Mentioning other sites can draw the wrong kind of attention. Randy could you please edit your post?

edit: Thank you. (Sorry, no offense.)

My post certainly was not meant to draw attention to anything other than the point that we don't need yet another new 914 forum. But I edited for you.

I'm glad to know that some here have assumed the role of dictating how many 914 sites should be available. I have no special interest in the site that I mentioned other than the guy that started is is a well known and well liked supplier of 914 parts. He said he started it to fill in until the unmentioned site is back on line.

If you don't want to check it out, it is pretty easy not to . . .

LUSK! er I mean KEITH! Dude, I'm no dictator. Just shared an opinionated response - Which, by the way, was Not directed at you.... Because I appreciate you sharing the news!

I was just responding to the idea of the new forum thing.

Oy, tough to have an opinion these days without wearing a flack jacket.

Oh, any chance you work at 914rubber and can update customers on product ship dates????

No Randy, I have no affiliation with 914Rubber other than that I have over the years purchased some of his parts. I just happen to be a satisfied customer of his business. I have purchased far more from our host than 914Rubber but have found that both excel in service, delivery and product. That is not why I posted the site information however. I visit a number of different 914 and 911 sites for my own edification and suspect others do as well. Not all sites are helpful to me so I rarely revist. This new site may fall into that category but it is too soon to judge.

Lastly, yes Randy, you are entitled to your opinion and I apologize for my poor choice of words.

I've made one large purchase from 914rubber and was very pleased with the service. Great guy. Looking forward to doing more business with him in the future.
