914/6 throttle linkage
Hi all, in the quest of completing my already up-and-running 6-conversion, i was wondering what the 914/6OEm throttle linkage is made of.
I made my own 914/6 sheet metal out of .20 gauge steel. Fit very well. I am the same guy who is attempting to craft its own steel flarews. One done as we speak. I have made a special bracket to allow me to use the stock 914/4 cable that goes around teh tranny and back to the carbs crossmember. I have a lag when depressing the gas pedal, and my guess is that my set-up isnt that viable. So.... up to make my own throttle linkage. I already know about the adapter plate for fitting on the tranny without machining it. Now one questions? Is the throttle rod a 911 part or a specific 914/6 part? Where to get those cup-shaped fittings on the end of the rod? Thanks for helping.

The rod is 914/6 specific.
Here's a pic. The rod ends....well, I have a few spares. The best ones are the "Carrera" ends with the spring clips. My spares are the old style.

The 914-6 throttle rod has a bend in it to clear the axles (as you can see in the previous photo. The accel linkage kit that we sell contains the bracket that bolts onto the rear of the transmisison, and it also contains a special bell crank, which has been separated, and then rewelded at the proper angle in order to fit in that position. These are modified 911 bell cranks.
