Oil Temp. Sensor Wire
I have a dead Oil Temp gauge.
I've checked the gauge and the sensor and they are both OK. I've been tracing the wire starting from the sensor. I can't feel a break anywhere. The wire enters the engine compartment and goes into a rectangular plastic connection before disappearing under the ECU. What is this plastic connector? It says, among other things, 150a on it so I'm wondering if it's a fuse. Does the Sensor wire just pull out of the connector? Does this wire have a push-on connector? Any advice will be appreciated. |
There's a male spade connector inside that box. The wire from the sensor has a female spade connector on it. The wire goes from that box into the main wiring harness and into the center tunnel.
Just because you can't see or feel a break doesn't mean there isn't one. --DD |
You should be able to buzz that wire with any volt/ohm meter. The ohm reading should be very small. Compare what you get on the reading with touching the two probes at the opposite ends of the metal part of a screwdriver.
