Well, I have learned a lot from just reading previous posts in this BBS, so I thought it was about time for me to join. I have recently become more involved with meeting new 914 people. I drove down to LA and met Glen Sager, really nice guy. I talked to Brad Meuyer about some 5 lug conversion issues. I bought some wheels from Jim Smolka. Of course all of my new parts I get from PP. I would love to start getting more involved and meeting more 914 people. My luck seems to be that 914 people are great!!! Anyways, I just wanted to kind of say hi to everybody, and give you a chance to get to know me.
My name is Chris Killam. I am 22 and I got my teener from my Mom. She got it new of the showroom floor in May of 1973. It is a 1.7, bone stock. When I got it, she was in PERFECT condition. I was initially not the greatest driver and I certainly had some bad luck. So currently she is Blue, black, White, and Primer. But this weekend I am putting a complete five lug setup in her, with 16x6 polished fuchs wheels. In aanother month, PAINT!!! Once she is all done I will post some pictures of her. BTW, her name is Lady. Story behind the name: my step-dad had a brown 914, and we called that one the Tramp. So naturally my Mom's was Lady. Both cars are still on the road today. Each with a Lady & the Tramp pin on the drivers side visor. A little sappy, but I think it is cute. So there is the background. I look forward to future posts and I am gonna try and make it to some 914 events in Ca. -Chris, 914 LOVER!!!
