Wayne

Congratulations, I suppose.

I decided to do some routine maintenance on my '75 after I purchased it some years ago. You know, oil change, tire rotation, new points etc. The car was in fairly good shape from the PO---most everything worked as well as could be expected---I removed some old stickers and such from the glass and bumper, and a center seat belt that I could not foresee ever being used. I cleaned and regreased the seat rails, and jumped in for a little spin around the block. I was back home immediately, as I no longer had 4th or 5th gears, and 2nd and 3rd were very difficult to engage.

Do you think the good Dr. or yourself can figure this out faster than the five hours of cursing and knashing of teeth I took?

PS: It doesn't seem to me that ebay has much to do with the free market system insofar as the price is no reflection of demand.

My sense of humor is pretty dark and twisted, and at the very least - dry. Oh man is this funny! Do you think he knows yet?!

Hey woodpie. I did the same thing when I installed my Sparco seat. The driver side inside seat belt bolt is now too long. It contacts the shifter rod and makes shifting impossible. Replace the seat belt anchor bolt with a shorter one, and it will be ok. I just saved Wayne one question.

I have questions for "Dr Porsche" at AA...

where exactly did he go to school to get his PhD?
and
Why hasn't the Porsche company told him to stop referring to himself as "Dr Porsche"? it's not his name, and he is using it very much in a business manner.

Holy cow...I just found this post and almost passed out laughing!!!!!!!!
Wayne, what did you two talk about? Did you ask him if he had a source for a lower radiator hose on a '72 914?
Sorry to drag this from the archives but this was just too funny!!!

Well let's see, Professor 914 here and I don't know krap. Just ask DD, Glen Sager, Don and a couple of others. Haven't written any books, but stole and defaced a few in my years.

Don't own a 916 and have only owned 5 Porsches (all 914s). Never been to Der Faderland. I eat Bratwurst and Liverwurst. Wurst of all I don't drink Bier.

We need to put this on a "active chat room" and all of us non-knowledgable people can donate to Waynes' cause to pay for this "once in a lifetime" event. Let's see $32.00 divided by ????=$0.000?

I guess I could say GH IV reaped what he sowed (farmer term).

Way to go Wayne!!!!!!!!!
