Really Dumb Question

Hey all,
I have a question for the wise. Will a 1.7L Dizzy work on a 2.0 liter? The system has the default F.I and will stay that way. I seems to hookup ok. Thoughts, prayers?......
Thanks!
Steve

Yup! I had asked this question not too long ago as well. The only difference is the advance curve. Check out http://mail.dgi.net/914/tech/distrib.html for the particulars. I am/was running a 73 1.7 dizzy on a 2.0 and it worked fine, but I think mine is worn (still worked pretty good).
Good Luck
-Mike

You might have to put your 1.7L vacuum advance unit on the 2.0L distributor. You can read the recent Worn Distributor thread about my struggles with a 1.7L dizzy on my 2.0L car.

One good thing about the 1.7 is you can get one of those Cardone rebuilt units for cheap.

THANK YOU!

Fellas,
I do appreciate your quick response!. I was hoping like #$%% that I didn't have to buy another dizzy. I have a new Crane Fireball XR700 E.I in the puppy. They work fantastic, but are a pain in the caboose to put in and tear out.
Again Thank you,
Steve

Ya cant beat $61.00 for a rebuilt distributor though! Just inspect very carefully befor you leave the store!:D
