75 to 73 2.0 exhaust conversion
Hey guys -
just doing the oil cooler seals on my car - being i have 1/2 the exhaust off i was thinking about going over to 73 ss heat exchangers/exhaust system. Other than the mufler, exchangers and mufler hanging bracket, what other parts do i need to replace? Was also wondering if any1 has a good used set of ss exchangers up for sale as well as the other parts i might need at a reasonable price. |

The J tubes, both warm air guides and tubes which can be had off a 1.7l car. You do need a 73-74 2.0l muffler hanger to make it work. I have seen some on ebay.

You will also need
1. set of copper gaskets 2. set of exhaust nuts 3. antiseize 4. also replace the pushrod seals 5. muffler to heat exchanger gaskets 6. set of SS bolts to mate the muffler to the SS exhaust. (you can use 5/16" bolts, but they will make your car go slow) 7. Go ahead and get new 6mm bolts to connect the heating system 8. Good time to adj the valves (need valve cover gaskets) 9. Good time to take the sheetmetal off and clean the top of the cyl. 10. Need more to do???
