Brake fluid in center tunnel?

Hey. I just pulled the pedal cluster out of my 1973 914 2.0
The cluster was sitting in a small pool of brake fluid so I guess I need to replace the MC.
As I was disconnecting the clutch & gas cables I noticed that there's a light liquid coating in the tunnel. I suppose that meens that brake fluid leaked in there too? I inspected what I could of the brake line in the tunnel and it dosen't appear to be leaking.
Is there any way to clean up the fluid in the tunnel?

The brake fluid eats thru paint, absorbs water and rust follows.
This same thing had befallen my car and i had to find a way to get it out of there.
Alcohol is the answer, but it's a miserable job (aren't they all?).
Remove the shifter, pedal cluster, shift rod and everything else you can. Bout a gallon of alcohol and a bunch of rags. Flood the area and slop it up best you can....a couple of times. Needless to say, the access sucks.
Blow warm air thru to evaporate the juice.......bestest I could come up with

Hello

Also look if your brakeline to the rear is in good condition and not the source from the brake fluid.

Yes, there is a union in the line in the tunnel.
