Bear Mountain to Tarrytown Drive - 07/14/02
Hi guys,
It was suggested to me that I might post about an upcoming fun drive some of us Pelican-heads are having in the NY/NJ/CT area. Here is a link to the relevant threads on the 911 Board: Bear Mountain to Tarrytown Drive - 07/14/02 Come one Porsche, come all - Sunday July 14, 2002 @ 10 AM! Best,

I was originally planning on competing in a rally on Sunday, but my navigator is unable to make it. So, I will be at the Bear Mountain run with my 914. Hopefully a few other folks from this forum will also be able to show up.
Now, what do we need to do to get Wayne to fly out DD for the weekend? |

Hey! Nice Rack! "Celette"

I think it would take a sizable parts order. Maybe a couple orders of that $1500.00 car wax in the crystal decanter. Hey Steve at the parts counter was telling me all about it last week when I called in an order.... Have a great one!

At any rate...I live about 15 minutes from the starting point...so I am definitely interested....would be in an MB SLK. Mike 845-351-5898 Tuxedo Park, New York

I don't see any reason why you could not show up w/out your 914. I drove my station wagon to the first East Coast Ramble since my 914 wasn't completed.
I'm going to try and make it tomorrow, hope to see you there. Ed |

OK Gotcha...sort of figured.....that's my sister in San Diego....she shipped the car to me a few years back, so she's resp. for all the 914 mania!
Mike Hey, Tod...figured out that the 75 doesn't have timing marks on the impeller...we'll have to revisit that one with the template, but with some better tape!

Mike,
Thanks for spending the time trying to figure that out. Im curious as to how the timing is set on them without a reference. Im going to touch base with the mechanic this week regarding the suspension issues. Hopefully we can get that sorted out. I'll inquire with him as to how the timing is done. That route this weekend had some really nice sections in it. Have to visit that again. Kind of surprized at the turn out we got. More than I expected. I really liked that 73 911T. Those pre 74 body styles have alot of character. Not to say that the newer arent nice. Im just partial to the older cars. I keep thinking about the chevy cavaliar that pulled over with us - still stikes me funny. When you decide to tackle your fuel lines be happy to lend a hand. Tod |

Too bad I missed this run. I'm not far at all from Tarrytown. Oh well, maybe next time.
