blinker problem

Actually, it's the indicator light in the tach that's a problem. It works fine with the 4-way hazard flashers. When I put on the L or R blinker, it blinks once, then it doesn't anymore, although the lights on the outside continue to blink fine. Also, the sound from the actual flasher unit is a loud click the first time when the indicator light works, and then it gets softer from there on when the outside lights only are blinking. Any ideas?

Mine does that exact same thing too only when 1 light is burnt out or disconected. Make sure to check all you lights are working and not corroded. When the clicker does this it means its not drawing enough amps to heat up and flex the bi metal contact strip. When the lights first go on the strip heats up and flexes breaking the electrical connection. It then cools and springs back to turn the lights on again and heat up and repeat the cycle till they are turned off. Hopefully this will help you look for the problem.

Will,
There are two independent synchronized flash output circuits in the 914 flasher relay. I think your flasher relay is the problem.

BTW, I don't think the 914 flasher uses bi-metallic circuits.
