Difference in front trunk lid

Are there any differences between a 76 and 74 front trunk lid? I put a 76 from a parts car on my 74 and there seems to be some clearance issuses at the frotn underside as it is almost closed all the way. Thought I would check before I start bending sheet metal to make it fit.

I don't think the lid was ever changed. It could be that your car was lightly (or not so lightly) tapped in the front so the front latch area has been pushed back.

That's right guys, there is no dimensional difference in the standard hood from any year. There is probably something that isn't it's original shape any more, could be the hood, the car's front, etc.

Like you said though, before you go bending anything I would check to be sure it's aligned just right and like James said check the latch as well. It could be bent or misaligned. Did you use both the male and female parts from the old hood?

Haven't tried the latches yet hood id hitting sheet metal on the seal gutter/channel. It was hit in the front, thought I had it back but looks like it needs some more tweaking. Thanks!!
