engine swap quest.
when i switch from f.i. to a carbed motor(no ranting i'm saving the f.i. motor intact) is it as straight forward as it seems? appropriate wires to coil, fuel pump change, and the starter wires?i presently have a 009(i know) but i also have a distributor from a 1.8. does anybody have any thoughts about plumbing the webers to utilize the vaccum advance and would the advance curve support the carbed motor. the motor is nothing fancy, a poorly advised rebuild with a hydro cam.

Hey Kevin are you gonna part with the 2.0? I'm considering a Big Four & could use a good core!

from what i know the 1.8 dizzy is the best for carbs but i dont think the vac advance is all that nessessary i left mine unhooked after tune up and did not notice a difference
it only does anything on a fi motor just off idle after that it does nothing

sorry jamie it's like money in the bank. until i have enough dough to break it down i'm going to leave it whole, pull the plugs squirt a little oil in the cylinders and turn it over by hand once in a while.
but what you might do is contact dave ellison at triad west. he's got more stuff than i can discribe. i'm under a bit of a dead line to try and make it to the gathering next month.i'm dropping the the engine tomorrow night and plan on replacing a few cables and bushings while it's in the air. kevin Last edited by Kevin Powers; 07-22-2002 at 08:31 PM.. |
